NURSERY SCHOOL GARDEN

A delightful primary school within a suburban setting. The brief was to transform this open area into a multi-sensory garden with some protection from the elements for use by the early years foundation stage. Sunken partially beneath street level and accessed via an external hedge covered alleyway, this garden provides a secluded and protected area for young children to play, explore and learn in safety. With permanent elements built into the garden to stimulate all the senses it is useable much of the year round. With the area dedicated to activities such as free play, reading, art & gardening, children engage through a number of mediums that complement those found in the classroom.
