EXTENSION AND REFURBISHMENT

Here the client brief was to open up the rear ground floor rooms of their semi-detached house. To the rear was a detached single garage that was to be retained.

One important aspect was to provide distinct areas of use within the over-all larger space. This was achieved with a zig-zag arrangement of ‘rooms’ which provided focused uses whilst giving a larger illusion of space for each.

The other key factor was to bring light into the inner rooms. Here a frameless glass slot window was used which wrapped down the wall to mark this, whilst also framing the external spaces.
